Eastbourne & District Canine Society Open Show 2014 Critique

I would like to thank exhibitors for supporting this entry despite the unfortunate clash of dates with the Deerhound Club education day. After a long wait the hounds presented well despite the less than complementary indoor surface.

Junior (1,0)
1. Meer’s – Shagiead Aunty Hetty for Lordswell
A strong bitch with lovely head, neat ears and excellent jaw, good depth of chest for age, tight feet, presented in fit condition.  A little more time will help strengthen at rear but moved with purpose.

Post Graduate (3,1)
1. Tresh’s – Lyndorthwin Ethel Grey
A shapely bitch with good neck length, depth of chest and correct harsh coat.  Long and very strong tail falling nicely from topline held well on the move.  Would have liked neater feet but overall picture is one of an elegant yet strong hound.  BOB

2. Erskine’s  - Sorisdale Maclindon
A wonderful opportunity to meet this veteran lady.  A nicely balanced bitch with lovely head and expression.  Still finding some bounce on the move with good reach but just losing drive and strength as a result of understandable loss of muscle tone.  A pleasure to meet her.

Open (6,4)
1. Wilson’s – Hamiltonhill One Vision
A longer bitch but holding topline well on the move.  Harsh dark coat with feminine head and an excellent length of tail.  Good extension and positive drive on the move but a little fidgety after the long wait.

2. Erskine’s  - Sorisdale Maclindon
